Leading a club

Someone has to be the one who makes sure the club actually meets. That's the job.

Everything else — invites, settings, marking rounds done — takes a few seconds. The part that matters is following up: getting a time on the calendar once everyone's watched, and nudging when it slips. Clubs don't die because the app broke. They die because a round got watched and then nobody ever got around to talking about it.

So: only take this on if you'll actually chase it.If you'd rather just watch and show up, hand it to someone else. That's not a failure, it's the sensible thing to do, and the club will last longer for it.

What you can do that others can't

• Generate invite links (up to 4 members)
• Set constraints on a round while it's still in Setup
• Delete a round, but only in Setup, before anyone's logged a reaction
• Mark a round Wrapped once you've discussed it
• Remove a member
• Transfer leadership to anyone in the club, any time

What you can't do

Leave while you're the owner. Transfer leadership first, then you can go. It stops clubs from ending up with nobody running them.

Handing it off

Running the club and being in the club are different jobs. If you're tired of the first one, transfer it — you stay a member, someone else picks up the chasing. Do this before you burn out on it, not after.

If a leader goes quiet

If the owner hasn't done anything in the club for 60 days, any member can claim leadership. It's deliberately generous so nobody loses their club over a long trip. Going away for a while? Just hand it over before you go.

Ending a club

There's no formal way to close one yet. A quiet club just sits there, which costs nothing. If you want out entirely, transfer leadership and leave as a normal member.
